Amirthalingam family returns to Sri Lanka

The assassinated Tamil Liberation Alliance former Leader Appapillai Amirthalingam’s wife Mangayatkarasi Amirthalingam had arrived to Sri Lanka. Her son Baheerathan Amirthalingam too had accompanied her.

She met the security officer A.D.Nishanka who was with her late husband before he was shot was according to reports. During the year 1989 July 13th, Appapillai Amirthalingam was killed by three armed men in Colombo. Along with him Tamil Liberation Alliance Parliament Member Vetrivelu Yogeswaran too was killed. But Nishanka who was the personal security officer to Appapillai, killed the three persons who initiated the attack by his rifle. After this incident Amirthalingam family migrated to a foreign country. Amirthalingam’s wife who had come on a vacation to Sri Lanka intend to continue living in Sri Lanka but as her children are living in England she is compelled to live abroad is according to reports.
