Mundalama Police arrest CID officer for allegedly dumping body into the sea

The Mundalama Police had today (27) arrested two persons for allegedly dumping a body into the sea in the Mundalama area in Puttalam.

The arrest had been made after villagers who had seen the two men dumping a body into the sea from double cab had alerted the 119 about the incident.

When the Mundalam Police had caught up with the double cab, the two suspects had reportedly shown their identification documents and one man had been identified as Chief Inspector Chandana de Silva from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

  However, the Mundalama Police had arrested the two persons.

The local media reported that the police had recovered the body that was thrown into the sea.
